hey all, i'll be coming into your class again tomorrow, but wanted to offer some thoughts on the designs that were presented last week. first off, i truly appreciate the effort that is going into this project. it will be great to initiate some action on campus and hopefully you will all be contributing in one form or another.

as for the designs that i like the most, let me first preface by saying that they all show creativity and are worthy of consideration. of course we can't use them all so i will highlight some of my favorites. and if i don't give you a shout-out, please don't take it the wrong way. so here goes...

steve's gang green logos are all solid. i like the last one probably the best, but also think there is potential with some of the plan-it ones
kay has a cool approach with the plan-it logo as i like the contrasting textures and feel of the design
aaron's origami logo is different and also could maybe be worked up
creighton's releaf logo with the leaf illustration has potential and we talked about working on the placement of the text. this could be a good one
i also liked casey's arrow logo with the encrypted recycling facts

the word "potential" is used alot because there is still work to be done to polish these concepts. and again, each person that presented/submitted work showed something positive that i liked. we just have to start narrowing it down.

so those are my 2 cents for today. when i slide by tomorrow we can talk more and i will also try to review any new blog entries between now and tomorrow's class...if there are some additional ones to look at, i'll either post some feedback on the blog or discuss with the class.

thanks again to all of you, and especially lindsey for allowing me to infiltrate your class. i really think it is cool to have a project that will be real world-tested and hopefully make a difference.
